    New Guitar Project

Nicely done! When I did mine, I didn't have an expensive piece of exotic wood to worry about ruining. Must have been very stressful. I used mostly rasps for mine.

    Our Friend Kevin Paul Moore:

Just seeing this. It's very sad. I'm sorry for the loss of all who knew and loved him. Especially his companion and you, Rob.

My Oldest Son's Guitar - Von Herndon #1:

Welcome to the club. I'm on my 5th or 6th scratch build (not all completed!) and I still make mistakes on every guitar. I've (almost!) come to accept it as part of the process.

So, hoping this is appropriate, I became a grandfather for the first time s little over a week ago. Poppy (her name) and Pop Pop Poppy with Mom and Dad Poppy herself. This was from 2 days ago.

    Strat Build

So, the weather and my work schedule finally cooperated to let me start finishing. First I sprayed 4 coats of sanding sealer then Sandi's them way back to leave a thin perfectly flat surface. That was followed with what turned it to be 3 coats of white shellac based primer. Now I'm doing the...

Yeah, fish glue is good stuff. A lot of the benefits of hide glue and it's liquid at room temperature. Nice job, Bea.

    Strat Build

I have to say, I have built 5 complete necks and have 1 more in progress, and I've never ruined one during carving. I did, however, trash one on the router table. Fortunately, I have basically a lifetime's supply of maple suitable for neck blanks in my shop so I just ripped another one and...

    Strat Build

Sorry to hear that. Neck carving takes patience. Also, although some so it with success, I would suggest not using power tools to carve the neck, at least not until you've been successful the slower, hand tool way. Dave Fletcher, of Fletcher Custom Guitars on YouTube, has a series where he...

Ray actually knows this, but I recently represented a professional cabinet maker who lost half his thumb on a table saw.

    NTRD

That's a nice tool, Ray. I recently bought a Ridgid 18V cordless (I already had a whole bunch of Ridgid cordless tolds and 3 batteries). I already have a DeWalt (the older one with the shitty base) and a Bosch Colt with a plunge base. I really like the cordless feature for perimeter routing.

    3way switch!!

I have a Hamer American I bought on ebay several years ago. The 3-way Switch was wonky. I replaced it and it works great. It needed the blade switch with the low profile inside the cavity.
