It's a string guide that eliminates the string pinch issues with some Les Paul's . . . And other guitars I suppose.

Voodoo Tune is the brand.

I got mine in today it took me 2 minutes to install.

Short vid here as well.

I will let it all settle in and report back with my thoughts in a few days...maybe weeks.

I remember seeing a far less cooler version of this a while back, that sorta hooked under the string posts and created a better angle for the classic Gibson headstock ( LP, SG, ES etc). Supposedly they do help, especially on the G and D Strings that get the worst of the angle break and tuning issues

When all is said and done, I think its pretty cheeky, a person has to buy an aftermarket device, to keep a certain brand of a guitar in tune. That guitar company, should have rectified the going out of tune problem years ago.

And at the prices they charge, they should truly be ashamed as a company. Thats the way I see it...

Not necessarily. Set up right they stay in tune pretty well. The original design was early 50s and many people want that history when they buy a Gibson.
I just played a show uisng a 1960 Reissue and it stayed in tune very well. The headstock angle is a bit extreme granted but that was the design.
Try to keep a stock 1962 Strat in tune with no mods.
I saw a performamce with a high end Gretsch that went horribly awry tuning wise. Usually it's user error, not stretching strings etc.

The butler simply tries to lessen that angle.

String stretching to me is paramount on any guitar. I usually pop the new strings very aggressively for a good 15 minutes, correcting the tuning until it doesn't knock out anymore. That and making sure it's intonated each time I change strings. It's amazing how that can shift out. Lots of times, it stays intonated on a new set but there's been times where it's been off a touch, especially changing string gauges or playing in alternate tunings

Funny My real 1961 Strat I've been playing for 39 years stays in tune never adjusted anything on it.
Now my 2015 DT SG was set up at the factory and Sweetwater inspection clowns to put it nicely put a new nut and bridge on it's fine now.
When I watch the factory tours of the major guitar manufactures the employees look third world Custom Shop not so.
Had a 1991 PRS Custom 24 played it on stage 11 years never went out of tune same with the 1992 Parker Fly Deluxe.

So even with heavy whammy use it stays in tune?

Bone Stock 2021 Gibson Les Paul 50's Standard Gold Top - Cannot make it go out of tune.

Well I've used it for a while now. Zero complaints. I don't even know it's there.
I think it looks cool and seems to help the tuning in that specific guitar.

None of my other Gibsons have ever needed it, but it seems to help on this one.

Do recommend..

I think it looks cool on this guitar, I wouldn't like it on my other Pauls.

Guess I’ve been lucky. None of my electrics really go out of tune playing them. But then I tend not to attack the things the way some of you do. No big string bends. I don’t “whammy” the Strat into the stratosphere. (See what I did there?) And if they do go out of tune while sitting…. All 6 strings will be in tune to each other…. Just equally sharp or flat when plugged into a tuner.
