OK, here's a pic of my ex-Mongolian gf - I lived in Mongolia for a while, but she also lived in the UK for a few years and we travelled around Europe too...

LOL OK Sysco,

My Fiancee is Korean, Pretty Sure Sp8's wife is too. We are not the only ones.

Robert has a wife of Hispanic descent. SO I jokingly said we can count her as Honorary Asian.

My wife is Thai, so there's another one for the Asian list, Chilli - it's hard to believe that Sysco hasn't got himself an Asian wife yet... :)
(I visited Hong Kong, last year and there were many smart, interesting and beautiful women... Get your flight booked, Sysco - the flights are very cheap at the moment!)

Grumpy, I remember she is Thai. All the Thai ladies I met here in Maryland, have been very sweet people.

I really really like Thai cuisine too. Of course I like Korean, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, USA Home COoking.
I often joke and say on my tombstone, it will read. " he loved to eat"

Did you say "food", Chilli?

The wife is excellent at cooking, today she made (from scratch) a red pork and yellow noodle soup for lunch which tastes as good as you'll get anywhere!

She makes a nice Thai Pad Seu:

I love my ASAT, but not until after I dumped those pickups. Very shrill
Well, ever since RVA posted this, and also confirmed that the Tribute Series of G&L's do use G&L's USA-made MFD's, I became very perplexed and went into deep depression about the MFD's that I highly have been worshipping for the past 12 years are... uhm... sh-sh-sh-shrill!!!!!

So, yesterday I yanked my ASAT off its wall hanger and smashed it into pieces. Justice has been accomplished and I feel better now... :2Thumbs:

Fortunately I woke up from my nightmare. A few hours later I plugged-in my ASAT into my Chihuahua (6 watts, 6V6 tube), and all my world was harmonious again. Butterflies were fluttering... the birds were singing... even my farts had a very dramatic sound with purpose!

But yeah, no shrillness here from the ASAT's bridge MFD. I can make it sound shrill with ridiculous EQ settings from the amp, but that goes for just about any pickup, including hummers. BTW... MFD's love overdrive... :dood:.

I'll also double down as MFD's sounding like a hot P90, and add that they cleanup very nicely with an overdriven amp.

It must be either my setup or my ears. Besides, you know my basement is an electrical vortex!

It's pretty much your personal preference of what you like to hear. If the tone you hear doesn't inspire you, or gets you into a nice vibe, then it's pretty normal to have a negative view of, in this case, the pickups.

Example: Fralin makes some P90's that feature a "noiseless" design. Lots of players rave about these. Good reviews from the magazines too. I put a set of these in one of Hamers, and after a couple of months I was still was very uninspired by them. This eventually lead me to the world of Kinmans where the honeymoon never has ended!
