How Much Would You Pay for a Cab???

For a little more detail: the A cab is a closed back pine unit from TRM Guitar Cabs that I finished myself. IIRC it was under $400 with shipping. I paid $375 for the fully functional 1960B on the bottom I found locally. The big used Marshall cabs are usually a pretty good deal. Lots of them around and they are big.

^ a couple of really nice cabs there, Cadorman. What speakers are in them?

That's a good price for that cab and the speaker that I'd like. Sadly, I won't be seeing anything like those prices in Korea... &, USofA shipping probably won't be possible, but if it is it'll be damn expensive. Nonetheless, I'll send them an email.

I've also sent an email to the local Celestion dealer to see their prices/stock, and I can get a well made Laney cab for US$165.

Who knows, the stock speaker might surprise too... Seems like a good deal. What do you fellas reckon?

I'm not overly worried about the price, but a good deal is a good deal - if I don't like the speaker I could put an Alnico Blue or Ruby or Creamback...

Yeah, I understand and that kind of sucks because it limits your choices. Curious... Does Mesa products have any presence in Korea?

It depends on the cabs. I paid over a grand for each of these. Since I bought them, The Hiwatt has almost doubled in value. The Hiwatt and Super Bass "B" cabs are both in museum condition, and 100% original. Both early '70s cabs keeping climbing in value. Even though the Fawn "A" cab is a bit tattered, I still paid less than the going rate, even with the cost of getting it home. I wouldn't lose money on any of these, and they all sound amazing.

1) Suffice to say that SG John has some amazing cabs, as good as it gets really.

2) Taxi. Cabs is short for cabinet. The people who take you around and you pay them are taxis...

Yes, but pricey; over $600 for the Compact Thiele 1x12 cab. I've never seen that 1x10 that you linked to, it might be available here soon, but probably at around $500 - I'm gonna keep on the look out just in case.

This cab is also available, looks great, but the speaker is too high wattage for me, and it's pricey at US$575. So MB seems to be 20% mark up in Korea.

Ebay and Reverb have been my friends for speakers. It's usually pretty easy to find newer take outs. I probably average $90-$100 per speaker shipped to me versus the usual $125-$135 for new models. It has worked out well for me so far.

Cost is not the factor sound quality is for guitar 12" speaker works well.
The best sounding single 12" cabinet is the EV-TL806

Mesa makes a copy also 1x12 Front Ported Thiele Guitar Amplifier Cabinet | MESA/Boogie®

This Marshall 2 x 12" cabinet sounds good I also use a Vox 2 x 12" cabinet once in a blue moon and I still love the Marshall 4 x 12" don't like moving them at my age.

That's a really pretty flame.

I've been trying to give one of those 4x12 Line 6 cabs away and no one will come and get it...

Chris, if you still have it in few months, I’ll take it off your hands. I’m getting a quote to have the new rehearsal studio floor put in and that will probably be in April. Then I’ll have a place to put and use it !

Whatever the going rate is?

I am of no help on this issue, I have purchased the smaller Marshall MG cabs, at about $130.00 delivered to my local GC and I am still in the process of getting more quality speakers for them.
But that is what I am using.
Cheers
