How Much Would You Pay for a Cab???

I've seen nice cabs (new) for $200-300 1x10/1x12 with good speakers.

Also, there are many cabs at big money $500+ for a 1x10 or 1x12.

A nice Zilla 1x12 is about $600 or maybe a tad more. Is it worth it? What would you pay? Why?

My take is Marshall cabs are way overpriced. I like them, so I buy them used and put the speakers I want in them. Honestly, as far as cabs go you will have a better product for less money if you get a Sourmash cab and put your own speakers in it. You could save up to $500 this way over buying a Marshall with vintage 30's or the like. Avatar is also a good way to go and has some resale value. I have a void free pine cab (412A style) built by a guy on the U.S. east coast that is phenomenal with exposed dove tail joints. I finished it myself (stained and urethaned) with Greenbacks for about $800. I won't buy new cabs from the majors. Just not a good deal.

No more than $3 for the first mile and 80¢ for each additional mile.

That's pretty cheap.

even with shipping this is a deal

Harley Benton G212 Vintage

Yeah, that is good value, and because I prefer a 1x10 or 2x10 this looks like very good value:

I don't know how they make it, sell it and have some profit at that price. You know that the materials will be average, so how much will it affect the sound? Stupidly cheap though.

The other way I'm thinking is a nicely made, great sounding, high quality cab like this:

Similar size, weight, style to the Palmer above, but three times the price. Is it worth it? How much better will it sound?

I agree with you. Zilla seem to be a similar company to Sourmash, and you can get them without the speaker or choose your speaker; they seem to be pretty nice cabs, and you can choose the grille, cloth, etc to match your head/combo. About $500 for a 1x12.

As long as the cab is made of high quality plywood and not MDF you should be good to go. I got a Crate cab for $80 last year that was really nice plywood (not all models are the same. Be careful. ) and stuffed 4 gt75s from a 1960b cab in it and put some nice grill cloth on instead of the steel mesh. Dirt cheap and sounds like a Marshall 1960a. Even has metal handles and corners. Perfect for playing out if anyone would have me.
