how Transtube technology works

Thanks for a very interesting article. The Transtube Peavey amps are some of the most tube like SS amps I’ve played, especially when you play them really loud.

Interesting article.

I’ve got a pretty nice TransTube 212 that I’ve had for years. Maybe I’ll dig it out and get some pics of it.

Pretty sad, huh?

Part of the reason behind that is that I developed issues with the effects loop that I eventually tracked down to a couple of bad solder joints on the PCB. I resoldered that and all was good.

Also, during that same time I started getting into tube amps and put pretty much all my effort into learning how to use a tube amp.

So, my interest in tube amps, coupled with the fact that my Transtube amp was a little flaky at that same point in time, resulted in the Peavey just becoming a much lesser-used amp for me.

I’ll never get rid of it, though.

Yeah, maybe I need to plug in and hear it again.

Just bring it with you on the next trip to the swamp -- I take donations at eSGEes House of Wayward Peaveys Collective Commune and Whoopie Parlor ;)
--the business cards are at the printer as we speak--

I get a weird conceptualization that I cant quite picture, of a Mosfet wearing the glass envelope from a tube and high heels or some sh*t like that.
