If you had a lot of money and you could only spend it on one guitar. What kind of guitar would you buy? :D

First of all i would invest into space for more instruments. Specifically restoring my house, which as i recently found out has an age of more than 200, maybe almost 250 years...

Only one guitar? The answer will probably change on a daily basis, but as of writing this it would likely be a 1954/55 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, something like this:

I am asked this often with regard to cars, guitars, etc. I don't really have an answer because my mind doesn't work like that. I've owned Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini in my lifetime, plus many muscle cars. I currently own the best guitars and amps I have ever played.

So, to answer this question directly, I would buy a small castle/estate on Fair Isle Scotland (a dream home) and create a foundation - in the name of my Son's - that put high quality, name brand guitars in the hands of youth receiving cancer treatment and for kids in poverty...

Just a guitar and not a much wiser purchase???? That's tough because I think perhaps a bit more like Bea...

There's only one guitar I can think of - I would have to have Gary Moore's Les Paul - currently owned by Kirk Hammet...

At the moment a reliable vehicle in good shape. Saturn got totaled, Plymouth Grand Voyager finally retired to junk yard heaven, and the Honda Civic we bought seems to be a lemon. Tying to turn it into lemon aid, but's that lemon aid is starting to get pretty expensive ;)

Something I could travel with. If I had the means most of my time would be spent seeing the world. A nice little parlour guitar would do it. I’d be travelling first class so I wouldn’t need to check it.

Agree with Gahr. Depends on the day. But if I had to choose this minute. Probably a Martin Reissue D-28 or D-45. Always wanted a Martin and if cost is not object, then why an off the rack one.

Interesting story (at least to me). Music shop in Davenport IA. Me and the future Mrs. IbLive have stopped in. Sometime in the late 70s. Pulled down a Martin. Played it some. Loved it. Probably a $1000 guitar even way back then. Salesman come out. See I like Martins. Says, just a minute. We have one on loan from Martin you might like. I was almost afraid to take it out of the case. Had more bling on it than one can imagine. Sounded pretty much like the 1000 guitar. Cost.... 10 grand. Pretty sure it had real diamond fret markers. If memory serves. I pooped myself.

I'd buy a famous guitar. Maybe,... Jimi's Woostock guitar, or top of the line custom custom (repeat 4 times) of some brand (Gibson?).
Ooooh, that's a thought! I'd easily relieve Kirk Hammett of the task of taking care of Greeny. It's not a particularly beautiful Les Paul, according to Peter Green it was not an exceptional specimen, but to me it is quite simply THE guitar. I'd easily have to pay several million dollars for it, but, hey!, what's money when they are only imaginary anyway? If I had Greeny I would seriously never buy another guitar for the rest of my life

You wouldn’t get it. Because it would be mine!
