Good for you and good luck
BUT
always a but with me ... You said you were retired, you're talking about " a full-time gig", one who has retired runs a mile from the prospect of work.
Well I do anyway.

For a long time, I have wanted to do something like this....but just didn't know quite how to approach the prospect.

just didn't know quite how to approach the prospect.

From a retired person's perspective ... Tell them you'll do the job for free but will only turn up when you are in the mood.

I'm still getting work offers 10 years after I retired, (talking rebuilding motorcycles here) I say "NO, I've retired" BUT a few times I've felt sorry for the person and done the work, then refuse payment. Payment would be an admission of failure as a retired person. I take my inactivity seriously!

So today is the performance interview. Talk about feeling intimidated. My ability to read music is probably still at the kindergarten level at best and I am quite certain I will be facing far more educated musicians.

Applicants have been asked to perform one song - any genre - and I just couldn't think of anything I really felt was suitable, so, I created this tune for the audition...
