Just Pulled The Trigger...NGD!

I just learned of this tip recently, and i highly recommend it. Somebody here at TTR (RVA?) had posted a video of this technique.

I read that sometime ago about this technique and I think even Fender recommends it in their instruction manuals. It sure does make a difference and my guitar really vibrates through the whole body and has better sustain. I used plumber's tape to wrap around the threads of the neck screws so it would make a better & tighter contact between the neck and body. A simple little thing like that makes a BIG difference IMHO. Here's an informative video I found that shows you how to properly loosen the neck screws and tighten them again once the neck is pulled in.

Thanks for the offer my fellow Durhamite and surprisingly the guitar does come equipped with the Schaller strap lock buttons. I have the same strap locks on my Fender guitar so I use the Fender strap which has the other parts for locking onto my Godin guitar. When I strap the guitar on it's at a comfortable height for playing. I don't know how some people who have their guitars strapped down so low to their knee caps how they can play their axe unless they have gorilla arms. I have mine sitting around the belt area which is perfect for me but everyone has their own style. BTW we should meet up for a jam sometime...maybe I can join your band since I haven't been in a band for quite some years now. I have a long time friend I know who's a musician himself and he just bought a house in Whitby. All I need now is to find my pedals and I'm good to go. Do you play the bar circuit in Whitby a lot? Let me know and I can come by and check your band out. I must have drank at every bar in Whitby back in my drinking days...I don't drink anymore now but I can always drink pop instead. Thanks again for the offer my friend.:)

BlackSG,

Sadly my band is not currently together as 2 of the individuals moved quite some distance away (still in Ontario, though). We only played a handful of gigs together. Twice at the Edge in Ajax, a private party for a local motorcycle club and a couple others. That's it.
I've been looking around, off and on, for jam partners.

Hey...well there you go. Since my buddy now lives in Whitby and has a vehicle maybe we could arrange something. I have a monthly bus pass so I can travel anywhere in the Durham region. I would have to find my VOX PathFinder amp which is much lighter than my Fender Twin-Reverb and sounds pretty awesome clean & with gain. Maybe we could form a band with my friend but he already plays in a couple of bands at the moment. I'll have to give him a call sometime and see how he's doing. We'll keep in touch my friend. Keep rockin' in the free world.:dood:

Well I finally set up an account on Imgur and was able to upload pictures from my smart phone to Google Photos and then copy the links to the Imgur site. Here's some pics of my Godin guitar.

That is a super nice ax Black!

Thanks Ray...now that I've had it for a few weeks I'm really starting to appreciate the guitar more and more. It really is one of the best guitars I've ever played and I play it almost every evening without hesitation. The neck profile has such a natural & comfortable feel to it and the pick ups are all great sounding and very articulate in tone. I can see you owning one of these when G.A.S. arises and you will not be disappointed. Do you still have some room in one of your guitar warehouses?:D

I just noticed, because of this thread on a Godin... but Session 5 hasn't checked-in since 18 days ago... :confused2:

Oh yeah...Session 5 PM'ed me a while ago saying he's taking a break because he's at his cottage for the summer. He'll be back because he really likes this forum. I met him on Seymour Duncan User Group forum and his username on there is Godin15 so I told him about here and of course the rest is history.

Cool. Thanks for the info... :yesway:

Glad you got the wiring issue sorted on that fine axe. I think every electric guitarist owes it to themself to learn at least the basics of guitar electronics, & soldering skills. Well done fixing it. Cheers
