NG Project!

I qm going to plug the ABR bridge holes and try to move the bridge over. Nothing to lose.
Um, what about the alignment of the strings over the pickup poles? You move the bridge location, you alter the string alignment. The string alignment looks good, but you will know for sure once you put the pups in.

That's what I was just going to say...the spalted maple top sure has character and is very eye-catching indeed. It's like a work of art if you ask me.:)

I am going to put the bridge where it belongs, something the builder did not do. I started by moving the neck instead of the bridge, just to see if it could be done, knowing that it would create a pole piece issue, which it did. the neck lines up with the up routes. Now, the bridge will be where the pups and the neck are.

Semi-Gloss Nitro

Semi Gloss Nitro is on.

That's a really good choice, imho. Nitro just does something extra that other finishes don't and the light semi-nitro could be super cool. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures as we continue. BTW, I always thought more sanding should've been done in the first place to get the grain out, the wood leveled, filled, etc. It's gonna be really nice when finished.

Thanks! Yes, I think semi-gloss really shows off the wood best. No glare and no satin haze. I am surprised it is not used more often

It looks like your project is coming along well Ray. I hope you have success with getting the necks on and everything lining up properly unlike before. Hopefully you'll have good luck with a tight neck pocket fit like this guy in the video.

I am hoping so too. Since you set the standard for me, I now call it the "black effect"
