Chili is just verbalizing the trepidation what we in the DC area have become accustomed to.

I remember years ago, when the Capitals held a two-game lead over Montreal in the playoffs. The local sports talking heads had all but assumed the Capitals would win. However, one of the local sports radio personalities, Steve Czaban, cautioned, "Never underestimate Washington's ability to choke."

The Caps went on to lose that series.

Those of us in the local area aren't bandwagon fans, but we've learned to be a bit cautious in our exuberance.

Is that really what I was saying, Smitty? I actually was just gonna say, "Go Caps" but then that would make all you guys think I was abducted by aliens due to my omission of any attempt of wit in one of my posts.

First, I root for the Caps to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins
2nd I root for good play, exciting games filled with good shooting, goalie play and knock down drag em out on the boards smash mouth hockey.

3rd, I root for anyone except the Penguins. That said, I sure would love seeing the Kegas Volden Gnights against the Gaps.
 
OK, Now for the lucky CAPS fans who are fortunate enough to not be DC fans, we won't stress too much if they do indeed blow another playoff run.

I must say, that Siberian goalie suddenly became a brick wall that blocks everything. If the Caps can't solve how to get him out of position with crisp passing to open up shots he can't defend, then it looks as if loss 4 is inevitable.
