Umm, I was ready to stop it just before the rap started...
It caught my interest to see what they were saying, So I kept listening as they kept playing.

Agree. To each his own, but rap does nothing for me. I can’t image 20 years from now there being classic rap.

I was working as a club musician and living in Fullerton in 88-90. I used to stop in at The Humdinger at Harbor and Lampson in Garden Grove occasionally and this song was literally being played over and over again....
Truth be told, I'm not a fan of rap, however I do respect the rights of others to enjoy the music of their choice. I also enjoy a little rib tickling. Lately my interest is in the blues, but I grew up on what is now called classic rock. Tone LOC with his two hits I posted above as well as the Run DMC/Aerosmith graciously posted by eSGEe are the few exceptions I have as far as enjoying rap. I remember hearing Blondie sing Rapture before I even heard of rap. I think that they got that whole rapping idea from her!
