NGD - Bone's 1996 SG '61 Reissue

That's a really nice guitar.
With a good backstory too.
Congratulations.
Enjoy it.

What with the history of it and all if it were me I would not,
I say again, NOT modify it in any way.

...and if it isn't your cup of tea...
Standing offer.
$1,200.00 and a promise to take good care of it.
beat me too it---and well out bid me as well...... :)

ITs o.k. I put in a "standing offer" on the one he is expecting tomorrow--- ACTUALLY gave the eSGEe "guarantee" ----IF you dont like ti I will buy it from you for what you paid-- SO he has nothing to fear but fear itself!!! wait no---

That guitar is AWESOME!! Congrats, I'm sure you'll do it proud. Love the color, I've seen one similar recently....hummm??

What year is the guitar?

Thank you! It is a 1996, when they did not have a Gibson Custom shop, so this was the top offering.

Thanks man...dughhhh, I just saw the Subject header which had the date and model. My bad. Guess I was to busy drooling to notice.

Either way, love it.

That is really, really nice!

What about pics of the amp?
Thank you! I will take more pics of the amp. I did not get much of a chance to spend time with it. It is a 65W 1x12 solid state. I always wanted a fender amp, so this is really a double bonus for me!

I thought you had a fender amp?
...and having zero to do with that,
Do you have a Roland Micro Cube?

I do not have a Roland. I never even played through one.

I have never owned a Fender amp. I got a Peavey Classic 50 instead, which is nice (except for the infamous fan), but it is not a Fender!

I wonder if that fan is even needed.
My Classic 30 has 4 EL-84s and no fan.
It runs hot but it runs without any problem.

Twin Reverbs have no fan either and there are 4 6L6s
and a whole bunch of preamp tubes in there.

Not to mention Dual Showman heads.

They must need the fan because you have to push 4 EL-84s
harder to get 50 watts out of them than to get 30 watts?

C'mon people. Time for someone who knows something
about amplifier electronics to chime in here.

400Volts at the plates, fixed biased, and tubes set at maximum dissipation. One hot box....but that’s how they get a 50watt classification on a 4X el84 amp.

Nice gear pick up with a meaningful backstory; I like stuff like that.
Power tubes make a lot of heat.
Maybe someone just decided a fan would be a sensible design feature, makes sense to me.

EDIT: yep el84 is a 12w tube so they are claiming 4 x 12 =@ 50w max.

Time to build yet another warehouse Ray. Your old one is getting over-stocked! Congrats on your axe...it sure looks sweet, especially a '61 reissue and the beveling on the horns are really deep and nice looking.

...and I just happened to have owned that same model amp for a number of years.
It actually does a pretty good job as a clean pedal platform and
the pre out and power in function very nicely as an effects loop.
I think you're gonna like it.

Beautiful 61RI & great story Ray.
I too will lift one & cheer Bone!
That guitar has found a loving & caring home.

That is spectacularly nice - look at those deep cut bevels!

You should, RVA, being the gentleman you are, send that to me as it'd be a perfect buddy for my 61-ish (maybe) junior; you have too many guitars anyway, this beauty won't be played enough.

I will raise a glass to Bone this evening.

Congrats on a lovely new guitar.

Thanks! This will not be modified in any way except for strap locks.
