I know a bunch of us have these things but we don't talk a whole lot about them. They are unique: singular looks, singular feel, singular sound. I have been playing mine exclusively for the last couple of weeks and although I have owned it for 2 years I am now really starting to understand how special Firebirds really are. The pickups are something of a cross between a regular Gibson humbucker and a hot Tele bridge. You will never get lost in a mix with a 'bird strapped on! They sustain better than any guitar I have ever played. Period. Obviously a function of the neck-through design. 100% access to all of the frets and a neck position that encourages "exploration" along with a slim-taper that is a bit wider and flatter than an SG-style neck. I could go on but I gotta say I am smitten even though its not a new acquisition.

I've always liked the look of the pick ups on a Firebird guitar. No adjustment screws...just a plain and cool looking cover for both pups. And the neck-through design is another bonus feature for better strength and stability. I like the shape of it and looks a bit like a Gibson Explorer but with more rounded edges on the body. The tuners are also another unique feature on this guitar and they're not like your conventional tuners that you mostly see on all other guitars. It's a great looking guitar overall!

ITs both HIDEOUS and gorgeous in its under whelmingness all at once.......it sounds like a rubber band stretched over a tambourine played in an acid rain storm on mount Fuji while riding a Caribou.......yet somehow the depth of its SUCKING is so great its....unique......

Have mercy my first electric guitar was a Kay. Firebird's are cool sound good.

I just traded a 1968 Shelby Cobra GT-350 302 the only one stock Raven Black with prototype seats the CEO of Ford ordered it new all factory options my wife was the second owner.
for a mint 1958 Les Paul Standard. Ford is picking up the car Thursday. I wanted a mint 1959 LPS but Ford put a $400k price cap on the car. I gave Ford the vin numbers done deal.
