Its time for an all Stratocaster Thread

Alright, I don't have a Strat anymore, but I used to have this one. A late '70s/early '80s Tokai Springy Sound. A great Strat, actually. It was my first electric, and the only one I had for about five years. I never really felt comfortable with the maple neck, but I couldn't afford to buy anything else... I sold it a couple of years ago. I guess I should have kept it, but Since I never really played it I figured it was a waste to keep it.

Here's a couple of photos of my oldest Son's "Stratocaster-esque" guitar. It's a solid mahogany body and neck from B. Hefner in Whittier, California. The neck is a 24.75" scale, 50's Gibson profile, 1-11/16" nut, and .951" thick at the 1st fret. The trim rings are gold plated brass .090" thick. Pickups are very old (2007) GFS 'Double Slugs' 15kΩ bridge and 12kΩ neck. It's wired for only bridge and neck pickup independently - there is no conventional middle position, as in the mid position, it's still playing only the bridge pickup. It has 2 volumes and one master tone with a single .033uf K40Y PIO cap. Wired this way, if you roll off the neck volume pot and switch to the neck pickup, it gives you a kill-switch effect.

Tremolo is a Gotoh License Floyd Rose with a tremolo stop making it a 'dive-only' vibrato.

No more Strats for me. Recently sold my Legacy and not really looking to replace it. Much as I like how Strats feel (and look) I simply can't get a sound out of them that is useful to me. Too bad, some great looking guitars here.
Now I know I'm in trouble. I can't get the sound I'm looking for from any of my guitars. I pick up my SG and it doesn't sound like Angus playing it. I pick up a Strat and it don't sound like Jimi. LPs don't make me sound like Jimmy Page or Slash.
