I am back home. My uncle passed Saturday night at 10:35. About 20 minutes after receiving Last Rites. He was not in pain and passed away quietly. I got home last night about 11pm local time. I did not stay for the interment because of lifestyles. I will leave it at that. I say family I had not seen in 10 years and that was good. Even my cousin who lives in Australia made it there. My uncle had all his family at his side when he left us except for the son from Australia who got there Sunday morning. That is a whole other story on how United Airlines really SUCKS.

I want to thank those who sent well wishes and prayers.

My uncle was a good man and I do miss him.

Sorry to hear about that ChasFred...it is heart-breaking to lose someone close to you and I know the feeling as you well know. All my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Keep strong my friend.

DAYUM Chasfred. Lutherville is my home turf. MY High school was in Timonium/Cockeysville and I was likely working just around the corner from you in Luth/Timon last week too. Sorry bout your uncle and glad you made it home ok. Of course I was not serious bout you hookin up with me n Smitty........... That would be best when planned under happy circumstances.
 
Just a quick update. My uncle was buried today 11am eastern time. He received full military honors.
Paul was a flight engineer on a B17 crew during WWII.

I will miss him dearly. He was the last of his generation in my family.

The B-17. That was one of the first plane models I built as a kid. It was on my bucket list to fly in one, and for my 60th, my wife bought me the ticket. Here we are flying over Long Beach, CA. Near the end you can see the Queen Mary.
