Tuck N Cover!!!!

Alright...a couple of days in, and this thing is a beast! It actually breathes, and belches out air! The ports actually pump out a breeze that can be felt, distinctly, at ten feet away. I was playing some random lame riff, repetitively, in an effort to refine it...and make it not lame(fail on my part). I started to notice a pulse to the breeze I was feeling. Sure enough, it was the amp belching air out of the ports. It was delayed from the cadence of my playing by a few seconds, due to my distance. This thing is crazy. I have to make it safe tomorrow, install a three prong cord, and ditch the “death-cap” that’s probably in there. I can’t wait to get a look at the guts of this thing. It’s staying, for sure.

Update with pics...
This was truly virgin territory ahead...
You know it’s an old amp when you find untouched flathead screws....

Definitely as they were from the factory.

The huge old Mallory can caps, and power board.

“Death cap” removed, and new 3 prong cord grounded nicely.

I did the best I could to be respectful, to find a suitable replacement cord, and rout it properly. They originally used vacuum cleaner power cords...like 20 feet long. I found a similar black vacuum replacement cord(50 feet was the shortest I could find), and left it the same-ish length as the original. I’m happy with the results. It looks great, and works perfectly. This thing gets better with every hour I put on it.
