Is baseball big in Brazil, Sergio?
I guess football (To all you Americans; that is football as in soccer, the proper football not played with your hands) is a religion in Brazil, but do you have a proper baseball league as well?
I used to play softball and baseball when I was in high school. Most of the time I was a catcher. We actually started the very first official team in Norway. Others had been playing before us, but we were the first team who were registered and proper members of Norges Idrettsforbund, the national sports association. We sucked big time, but we won all our games in the first year there was an official league (softball only), simply because all the other teams sucked even more. We had a couple of half decent players and a coach who had played semi professionally in the Netherlands at one time. He was pretty good, and that was more than enough to make us a really strong team by Norwegian standards. The team was dissolved after a couple of years, though.
I was a fan of the Yankees, but I don't follow baseball anymore.

Softball! A bunch of friends and I used to play that on Tuesday evenings in Regents Park here in London (details to allow googling of pictures!). Our equipment consisted of one bat, and two balls - one new and hard and the other old and battered a bit like a bean bag. We used that one when girls were catching. Anyway, one evening A group of Americans came over - their opposition had failed to show and they wanted a game. They had gloves, masks, those big basket things they hold out instead of catching the ball. The lot.
Anyway, we played them - they batted first and we introduced them to cricket-style bare hand catching, something they would have nothing to do with. Then we batted and eventually introduced them to a cricket term - the declaration. I think the difference was that in cricket we are used to a far heavier bat, so swinging a little baseball bat was easy. And we were all accustomed to aiming the shots into the opposition's weak areas. So they could never actually get anybody out.
All ended well, though in the pub. They were a nice bunch.

Football, baseball, basketball... It's all about a bunch of guys playing with their balls. Whilst in school as a kid when the other boys were playing with their balls, I was twisting wrenches on cars and motorcycles and playing with electronics and girls. My oldest brother was captain of the HS football team. My younger brother played football for The New Mexico Lobos. Neither of my brothers went on to play professionally, but I became a factory certified mechanic later switching to computers.

Okay. I would watch this. I did some motocross as a kid. Polo would sure add another element to the fun.
