Well Sysco, I am still sorting out the loot and catching my breath from the purchase. Not to mention, eating dinner my sweety made.
She hasn't seen my Yellow Alpine SG baby yet.

That guitar is NOT white me little BIG buddy...it's TV yellow or an aged white FYI.;)

;>)/

Before I actually bought the SG, I gave thought to it potentially being TV Yellow and not an Alpine White that yellowed over time.
To go by experience where I have removed lugs off of old drums only to find vibrant original color beneath and a fading of the original color on the normally exposed finishes, I expect to find likewise if I remove the pick guard, or the tuning machines and control cavity cover. However when I rfemoved the control cover to change the battery, there was no apparent change of color inside. As in no lighter shade of white where it was dark under the cover 99.9% of the 42 year life.

Next I will take off the cover and let you guys see the result. I suspect it will be quite yellowish and uniform. I really am leaning toward this being a TV yellow SG not aged Alpine White like the Pawn shop said Gibson told them.

Here is one they say is TV Yellow, I might just have one of those guitars that takes a real expert to nail down.

Congrats Chili! Please test out those EMGs before you pull them. I have been very curious about them.

Ray, I tested them out, Had to swap in a different battery since the Duracell in it was from 2006. They sound pretty good, but I will likely save them for a project elsewhere and put the original Tarbacks and original pots back in.

You type faster than me, Sp8

Don O, that one is like my Brown SG one and my ES135, The best cases!!! Although, I wish they hinged farther open so I didn't feel like the lid will slam on the front of the guitar while trying to remove the guitar.

Chili, on the color, it could possibly be cream. I owned a '77 Custom that was was cream, not white. I got it brand-new from Bill's Music House in Catonsville - you know the place - and this is exactly what it looked like on day 1:

Vintage Guitarz: 1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom White Cream Guitar

Even listed the name of the color on the sales receipt. Was exactly the same color in the pickup and control cavities, like yours.
I had people then and since argue with me that it was white with yellowed lacquer - it wasn't. I bought the thing brand new! I know what it looked like, plus I owned another one that really was aged white and it was different, not to mention still white in the cavities.

The color apparently does not appear as a standard color for Gibson in the mid-'70's but everything I have seen over the years leads me to believe that they did runs of them in this color from about '75-'79, and I think they were actually doing it to replicate the color of an aged white one for some reason.

That is just soooooo nice Chili!
Even better you have the original parts.
Just belongs like a lightly restored / back to original Survivor Series.
