Capo: Most Gentle???

What would be the most gentle capo that would fit my 12 string neck??? Maybe one in which I could adjust the tension???

I’m interested as well. I have a Yamaha 12 string that I’ve had for a very long time. It has a wide and quite thick neck. A standard capo like I use on my 6 string guitars will not fit.

Way back when, I had a capo that was a sort of round rawhide kind of material with a pin thru the center. It had a double elastic strap you’d wrap around the neck and hook back on the pin. Worked great. Strap broke. No more capo and I haven’t been able to locate anything like it again.

I have 2 Shubb capos. Fully tension adjustable.
I really like them. Older all solid brass ones like the one pictured.

The link below looks like they've made some improvements in the last 20 or so years...

Shubb Capos

I have this same Capo. Its one of the best on the market. Mine is stainless steel. I like it because its compact doesn't take up a lot of room on the Fretboard. And the adjustable wheel is a key link to prevent dented Frets. I have used the Keyser spring loaded, dented my frets the pressure is strong and uneven. The Shubb just adjust the wheel enough to push on the strings.

Exactly!

I’ve had this one for decades. I don’t use it much but you can pull it as tight as you want.
