As for the tenon cover: the solid black looks better to me. It flows better with the pup rings. And the angel wing looks more defined with the tenon being solid black.

It looks like the 5 ply tenon cover is in the lead with four votes to one for the solid black.
But I'm still on the fence about it.
The only reason I made one is that I saw one on this black SG and thought it was a nice detail.

It's subtle at best and but solid black one was thin & flimsy.
Every other SG I've seen had a solid black tenon cover. I guess I just want to be different...

That black SG 3 is a thing of beauty, owned by a young man in another forum by the name of Logan.
It's what pushed me over the edge to "hack" mine.
