I guess I missed dimissiveness. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I think the show was basically wrapping up. It seems the norm on Letterman after the musical guest does its final act, it never seems to linger on.

Watch how when STP finish up, Dave usually just thanks them and off they go,,,,,,,,, Show over.

I guess it is a different approach. The US chat show host seems to go for Patrician, while in the UK he is your slightly wild best mate who leads you astray when you've had a few drinks.

That is Jeff's way. He doesn't understand half measures - if he's going to perform it is going to be perfect. Bet he drove the crew mad with sound checks. And I bet he kicked the show's sound man off the desk for that bit.
