The Muse I Adorn

What? You put down the double neck?

That is a fine instrument. I notice that since the FB in relation to your body is so radically shifted with an SG compared to other guitars, I get lost if I have not played one in a while.

Yes! The upper fret access makes the neck seem longer to me...

Picked up the Epiphone EB-0 again today. I haven't played it since I got the Les Paul gold top. I had nearly forgotten how fun bass can be.

Hey Gahr...you even have a turntable! How many records do you have in your collection. I have about 500 myself. Nothing beats vinyl records and even Eddie Van Halen swears by vinyl. BTW...nice looking bass guitar.:)

I may have posted this in this thread before (and definitely on this forum), but who cares! The muse I adorn tonight is a beauty. Meet Aurora. She is a 24 fret, trem loaded PRS with a piezo pickup under the bridge and stereo outputs. She is similar to her sister Phoenix, except 2 less frets, a trem instead of a stoptail and different pups. The only mod is getting rid of Paul's standard cream pup rings for some gold metal pup rings. She has a Brazilian Rosewood FB which is loaded with mineral streats, and I think gorgeous in its own right. This PRS is wonderful player too.

Oh, yes, I love vinyl. I haven't counted my records in years, but I'm guessing somewhere around 1000 LPs at the moment. When I was a student there were a couple of nice second hand record stores in town. I used to go there a t least a couple of times a week to check out the goods.

Of course, I have a CD player as well, but it just never feels the same as a nice LP. I'm definitely not a hi-fi freak or anything, my stereo is rather cheap compared to what a lot of people have, so it's not really the sound of vinyl that is important to me. But the feeling of holding that big record, looking at the big covers (especially nice gatefold sleeves!) is something special.

When all my friends bought CD players in the 1980s, I stuck to vinyl. I didn't buy my first CD player until 1992, and I did it only because all the record stores in my home town had stopped selling LPs at that point. When I moved to Bergen in 1993 there were several stores selling vinyl, so I continued buying LPs. These days vinyl has come back big time. I don't buy a lot of music anymore (although I buy things on iTunes for my phone every now and then), but when I do, I always look for LPs. I think there is a new second hand store in town as well (all the old ones closed down a few years ago), and I think I'll have to check it out soon.

So let me guess... You picked this guitar up and asked "what is your name" and the guitar replied "My Name Is Earl"

Earl is a handsome twang fiddle!
At the time, I was using the expression "Enjoy every sandwich" to mean that every moment should be enjoyed, not just the weekends, or the evenings, etc. Of course, I turned this into a way to rationalize another guitar and I wanted to name it "sandwich". My wife was not impressed, so I went with Earl, as in the Earl of Sandwich, where the meal got its name (which you can now hear every 10 minutes if you listen to Spotify with commercials)
