Uncool Guitarists:

Ever see a guitar player so cool that you wanted to be like him???

Who were they to you???

Then what about the uncool guitar players???

Can you name at least one???

I admired many guitarists for their cool factor - Randy Rhoads and Rick Emmett were two of my favorites.

But as far as the "most uncool guitarist" is concerned, I'm afraid that this guy takes the prize...

For me, uncool is what happens when you are making a conscious effort to look cool. Now, that hat tells me that you couldn't give a toss about looking cool - so you are.

By the same token, 99.999% of rappers, hip-hop artists and the like are seriously uncool.

Good points!!! That hat was one the U.S. Navy issued to me in 2003.

I don't really know about uncool guitarists, I never paid them much attention.

When I was a kid I saw a lot of guitarists I wanted to be like. But I think my perception of what's cool has changed significantly since then... Mind you, my old heros are still my heros.

When I was 14 this was the coolest anyone could get:

I was never that cool, but these days, age and grey hair has at least brought me somewhat closer to the idol of my teens.

But you brew beer. You are far cooler than Ed...

I like the boonie hat Robert.

I dont really know what cool is anymore.
I think confidence with modesty is it.

I've known folks who try to be or believe they are so cool, and so value its importance, but are typically the most pretentious arrogant self absorbed narcissistic condescending dick heads you will ever meet.
Too many adjectives?

But, for those guys playing up on the big stages, while I'm in my basement: I know exactly dick.

Now, I will admit that I was a big Motorhead fan and perhaps they influenced my early stage style:

I ditched my concho hat for this promo photo:

Growing up on the farm, we didn't have a lot, so things like leather pants, or a Duncan Quarter Pounder, represented a lot of saving money and a lot of waiting.

I recall seeing an Eagles performance once. Right away, Don Felder impressed me...not only with his playing, but I recall his stage clothes and thinking, "Wow, he dresses like I do everyday!"

I still have that black concho hat...and I may just resurrect it...

I think you nailed it!

Sums it up perfectly.

In my mind, the height of cool (Bubba Dupree):

And the depths of uncool (any of this hair-metal BS):
