So, I finally succumbed to the GAS and purchased one of these yesterday.

I had been putting it off because I really wasn’t sure whether to go 50 or 100 Watts. The 100 would have only been to take advantage of the switching and connectivity options.
I played both in the store amp room for about an hour and in the end I went with the 50, mainly because it was cheaper and because it’s likely that if I use it at a jam or live I’ll still use my pedal board.
I must say that I wasn’t as easily blown away with the sound of the amp as I was the first time I tried one, but I’m still pretty happy all the same and at least I can leave the AC15 at home when I jam with others, much to the relief of my back.
Is it going to become my favorite sounding amp? Probably not (I played the AC before I went shopping and that still has a sound which makes me smile a lot!), but the Katana is probably going to become my most used amp due to the less weight alone.

I made the necessary updates last night and played it through headphones until the early hours.
I’m pretty confident I will enjoy the new purchase for a little while at least.

Cheers gents.
Tomorrow night will be it’s first test. Band is jamming at a room we haven’t used in a while and that room has a resident Fender Hot Rod Deville 4 x 10 that I usually use and absolutely love.
Be nice to hear how the Katana stacks up. It’s not a fair fight so I’m looking forward to being pleasantly surprised!

Weight?

Good score. I also have the 50. Got it about a year ago.
I like it for the same reasons. Sounds good enough, and it's LIGHT!
Even with my Mesa's & Marshall's it's still a keeper.

I may take my daughter's Fender Frontman 15 to my first band rehearsal just because of weight. My DSL40C was heavy, but that WGS Reaper 55Hz really added some weight.

Congrats and enjoy!
I get the idea of using a more portable SS amp that is "good enough" for forays outside the home studio.
I repaired a Line 6 Spyder head for a friend who uses the built in stuff with a number of custom saved presets for gigs.
Same reasoning.
