clean,,,,,I mean CLEAN

Its not a bad idea, but doesn't seem like a better mousetrap.
Do you folks wipe your strings clean and / or wipe down your guitars when done a playing session?

I always do, particularly bridge and hardware where my hand rests, and always pinch the wipe down cloth around each string individually, as seen here:

I dont get my finger around like that, I pinch from the front so I get right up to the nut.

That said, I personally wouldn't pay for that contraption to do the same thing.
But if that encourages someone to keep after it when they otherwise didn't, I think that's a good thing.
 
I have had one of those for about 5 years now. I use it occasionally, with some Dunlop 65 string cleaner solution. It works very well. I've yet to see the soft material fall apart.

is simple logical and free ----- where the FOOK would our American (and further more the WORLD) econmy be if we just do SIMPLE --- FUNCTIONAL....FREE things?????????????

I have also had one of those for about 3 years...don't use it much. I bought it for my Martin.

Really? Acetone can be very damaging to a finish, especially nitro. I once saw a thread where a player's GF asked him to open her polish remover. He put his guitar down flat on the floor. In the process of trying to get the cap off, the contents went airborn and landed on the finish. The top looked like it had melted candle wax on it!

Those are BASS string GM.....that is a whole other ball game---no you dont clean them....the bass either.....funk ads ---well-- FUNK baby!

Tony, I know your old---but ---they have COTTON UNDERWEAR now---- much less chaffing--- it wont stop a crossbow bolt--- but, .......
