Anyone here play them in their lap? Just curious how that feels...

No I play the Resonator like a guitar only I play it in open G or D. I have nut that raises the strings up to play it like a slide guitar. I have a steel lap guitar that I can put the legs on or my lap. I have been only playing one song on it. Crazy diamond by Floyd.

What make? The head stock sure looks very Fender but it might be a custom built guitar by someone else as far as I know.

The Dobro was made to play like a regular guitar. That is the only way I play mine. It is a cold metal heavy, slippery thing. I play it on stage sitting because I don't want to drop it. I have a slide and a pick. These things love a glass slide or maybe I love a glass slide on it. Many songs I play I have to have a pick also. Resonators have no limitations, I run it thru pedals like a guitar because it is a guitar. A weird guitar and your approach to it should be weird. It works the best with my sitar pedal.
I was about to toss out the sitar pedal but when I was screwing around the Resonator came across with stuff that would have made George Harrison thrilled
