There was some imaginative stuff in there - not to be knocked. If you don't mind a little bit of direction, you need to concentrate on not playing ahead of the beat. It's called lead, but it sounds best when it follows.
And congratulations on the current avatar too.
I actually heard quite a few good techniques at work in there. Very traditional feel. Perhaps a little work on timing, as Don pointed out, but you are progressing.
Now, I'm not sure if the lesson plan allows it, but there are a few places where your solo abruptly stops. In those areas, I might suggest a bend and hold, or an extended vibrato to "fill in the holes."
Good work!
Thanks Robert I love the advice! As far as soloing we can do what ever we please as long as it fits the song...I get lost at times and have to collect myself, a nice bend or vibrato might be the ticket!
You are showing excellent progress, Sp8ctre! Some great traditional sounding blues licks in there.
Like Don points out, staying slightly behind in stead of ahead of the beat gives you more «swing». Another tip would be to start practicing a bit of fonger vibrato an a few bends.
