I can't profit from guitar stuff. I always seem to sell for less than what i paid for it...but i can relate Ferengi Rules of Profit to crypto currency. I bought 300 Token on November 13, 2017 for around $181/coin. Sold on January 14, 2018 for $2,625/coin... :)

I think it's more about the starting platform honestly. I think the biggest thing is the quality of the AMP before the guitar. If you like the feel and playability of said guitar you throw in the wiring/pups you like. If you don't like the feel of the guitar then why did you buy it or still have it? I think I could make a killer guitar out of a cheap bolt on LTD Viper. I loved the feel of that neck and it didn't sound bad at all. Probably not as nice as an actual ESP Viper but I have never played one of those and never see them around. When I 1st started back to playing I bought a MIM Strat & an Epi G400. The Epi was just OK but the MIM Strat sounded weak & thin so I spent $$$. All new Dimarzio H/S/S pups and Dimarzio pots etc...had it all installed and my HB (Fred) still sounded thin. Was disappointed to say the least especially since I really didn't like the 21 Fret MIM neck. Especially the thin upper fretboard. I have sausage fingers lol Sold it to a bud for $400 (I had $700 in it) & the EPI & turned around and bought a mint Surf Green Metallic MIA Lonestar Strat for $750 and should have did that from jump street. I have found decent deals on some great guitars! Mint Charvel Model 4 for $350.....MIJ Ibanez SZ for $200 & I see Faded Gibson's for under $500 all the time. I have bought numerous Gibson closeouts for under $600. I still don't mind the indo Ibanez RG's either. I spent some dollars on 1 of the Neon Yellow RGXXV's they came out with a couple years ago. Made it sort of Vai'ish swirl PG and neon green pups & purple SC. It was another killer guitar I should have kept but GAS hits and that's that.

I never even broke even on a guitar sale. I feel bad for the guy, besides taking the loss I give them extra stuff.

That's what I do too...cables, strings, straps, opium...lets start a support group.

Yep a goodie bag with tuners, strings, all of the above. I give them cab fair because they have too much to carry on a bus. I call up a car for them right after lunch. What is wrong with me?
