Bye, Bye Gibson.

I really want the Green one they put out last year I think it was or 2016. I had been saying they should do it as I have oogled over the Green Agile 3100 for a while & they went and did it and I have no funds for that at the moment :(

Yeah, that is a sick color

I really like the style of the control knobs. Slash from G 'n' R had the same exact control knobs on his original Gibson Les Paul which really wasn't a Gibson as most of us know.
;>)/

True, but the minute he had enough money he started buying and playing the real things.

Oh, I thought you meant the green Mira...haha, I'm an idiot.

Yes, that green Les Paul is amazing. That would be a great color to find.

what you have is either a guitar that plays and sounds good ---or you dont---regardless of name and "pedigree" ---so find what plays good and HANG THE LABELS.

This explains why the guitar I play a lot is a 1993 Parker Fly Deluxe. Otherwise it's Pre 1965 guitars. Call me a snob I don't care. It was a sad day when MAX stopped building hand made guitars.
Now a disclaimer I own and play newer guitars than 1993 I have owned import Fender Japan parted them out and doubled my money they never did sound like the original Fenders.
I think the only way for Gibson is to survive is the top end market and try not to cater to the full spectrum of the market. I use Tone Pro's bridges most likely made in China I don't know.

This is interesting

I do think this is a fascinating video with a lot of interesting information. But, he does make an incorrect statement in the video. At 3:14 - 3:18 he states that Samick is an Indonesian company, but they also make guitars in Korea. It’s just the opposite. They are a Korean company that also makes guitars in Indonesia.

It's an honest oversight. He may have meant to say the opposite and just had a slip of the tongue that he didn't catch before he posted the video. I'm not ragging on the guy. I actually watch a lot of his videos and like his calm, pleasant approach to things.

But, to state the facts, Samick was founded in Korea in 1958. They opened their factory in Indonesia in 1992.

Today, I believe the majority of the guitars may be produced in Indonesia. I don’t know. I’m just guessing at that. But, the world headquarters for the company is still in Korea.

Could ad wheels and have a grooovy skateboard :)

I dig them. Remember, the original V and Explorer were met with scorn and they disappeared fast, but now we all look at them as classic designs. For some reason guitar players are resistant to anything new (thus the never-ending reverence for all things 1950's) but to me it's cool to see Gibson trying different things time to time instead of just chucking out LPs, SGs, 335s, etc.
