What If Danny Gatton was Still Alive?

Amazing talent. Breaks my heart to watch this...:

I'm originally from the D.C. area (suburban MD). We used to go down to Georgetown, Washington D.C., to a place called the Crazy Horse Saloon (not sure if its still there) and see Danny Gatton play all the time. Absolutely mind-altering stuff to see him live. He was of course legendary in the area and all the local musicians would crowd in there to see him. It's a true tragedy the way it went down with him, a shattering loss to the guitar community.

Nope. I had to look it up. If the place you're talking about was down near M St. NW, it's a place called "Coach" now. It sells leather goods.

One of my guitar playing friends who is from the area knew Danny Gatton and tells me about him from time to time.

You're right. I've been in CA for over 20 years now. Sadly, it looks like all of the bars I frequented are gone:

Georgetown Bars Now and Then

The one that hurts the most is The Bayou. That's where we did most of our G'town gigs back in the day.
