I was given a large piece of soapstone counter top a while back.

Hmmmmm..... What to do? It was about 2'x1'x1 1/2". Can't really make a sculpture.

I KNOW! (Insert picture of lightbulb here)

Cut it into blanks, drill some holes and go to town when I need a one of a kind gift for the "right" person.

This is a particularly veiny piece.

If anyone would like one, I could make it for you. No fancy custom stuff, a soft shape that fits in your hand naturally.

Here are the blanks I have left...FB_IMG_1482612075656.jpg

And here is a finished product.FB_IMG_1482611199948.jpg FB_IMG_1482611192424.jpg FB_IMG_1482611182261.jpg

Yup, I get bored and artsy every now and then!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I wonder how that would work as a guitar slide?

I'm somewhat concerned the strings could carve grooves in it. But, I'm still curious about it.

Hmmmm...... I just grabbed a blank and tried it on the shop guitar ( a 90's Korean Fender acoustic).
I was ready to dismiss the possibility, but it might work! I think I will sacrifice a blank and try making a slide. I didn't notice any marks but it was for a short little test. Soapstone it pretty soft. Maybe I should save my sanding dust to sell as string and nut lube!;)

Man, this will be a test of my skills!

Hell Sp8ctre it dont matter none up here no mo.you go to the weed store and theres a damn menu they give ya like the Pizza Parlor across the street.

well thats prolly true there frank.never thought of the state line thing, hell ship um all to Oregon lol.

I said NOTHING of what they are to be used for! They are original pieces of art.

The holes in the stone symbolize the escape route we all have when we are stuck in a rocky situation. I chose soapstone because it is soft. Even though it is rock, if you scratch at it long enough it will give way.

Sheesh... You guys!
