Performance nerves :-(

... my new band and I are building our set list up. I'll have to beat them into a tighter group but I can see potential.

You want an easy song to add to your list?

"Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty. It has a very simple, repetitive chord progression, it's easy to learn the strumming pattern, but people love to hear it.

Practice with a metronome.

Cheers Smitty, I have enough homework just now but I did check out "Free Fallin" and while a few different versions presented none of them had me cacking my pants :-)

You are mistaken, my wife has a Rickenbacker & my son has a Rickenbacker.
Poor little Gasket is Rickenbackerless :)

Well, this is a fine opportunity for one of them to contribute to the worthy cause and loan you a Rick for a day!

But, the last time I did it with a band I gig with occasionally we just used acoustic guitar, with bass, keys, and drums - no electric guitar. I sat on a stool and just used my Taylor acoustic while the singer did his thing. The crowd will sing along on the chorus...I promise!

"progressing at Glacial speed"
you and me got a lot in common brother.
I'll take what I can get, but I've been a little frustrated lately.
