;)I am not throwing darts here at the acoustic guys ,by any means. When I was a teenager all I wanted to do was play Electric and that has followed me all through my life til this very day. Last summer I told my wife I'm going down to the shop to play some acoustics, when I left she told me she thought I was going to come back with one. Well that was the plan but I didn't . I tried 8 different acoustics all different brands and styles, some really nice guitars, but I just have to say acoustic is not my thing I gave it a really good try. My wife was very surprised when I showed up home without one . I just got to tell you guys Electric is in my blood to stay.

I play mostly electric - probably 98% of the time. That is my preferred instrument. But, I have a great fondness for acoustics and sometimes get into an acoustic binge where that may be the only guitar I pick up.

I find them to be a very satisfying instrument to play.

I feel castrated when I play acoustics. I don't even own one and there is only one photo of me playing one - and that was taken in 1984.

I have played them on studio recording projects but I like nothing about them...

Only recording I have of me playing acoustic - an instrumental tribute to Randy Rhoads, I wrote years ago and recorded on 4 track cassette.

Panorama

I presented a CD of this recording to Randy's Mom in 2002, on one of my visits with her at Randy's 951 Amherst home in Burbank.

The guitar on this track is a "house guitar" at Mom's Ranchouse Studio. Its a Hohner 400N and it was miked with a Neumann 57.

Tony, just out of curiosity, how tall are you?

I feel bad because being 5'5" sometimes I think I look like a midget or a child when I play a Strat. I avoid semihollows because of that.

But then I look at SRV, Angus Young and Paul Kossoff and feel a bit better...

About acoustics, I am thinking of buying myself one but still haven't.

Works the opposite way too - I am 6'4" and 97 kilos and people have always made fun of me because my Les Pauls look like toys hanging on me.

Sergio I am 5'6" but have no problem with ES 335 size guitars.
I am not comfortable with flying v and explorer type guitars though.
They are just too big for me.

Truth be told, the ES-335 body size/style is the most comfortable for me.

I really have no issues with any of my guitars, but that style does seem to hang the best and requires the least amount of periodic adjustment.

It's rare that I do.
I need to harshly bend strings, get pinch harmonics, and just hear something nasty. Acoustic just doesn't tickle what needs to be tickled.....for me.
But if it's there, I'll pick it up, because I'm a guitar player.

It’s mostly electric and 90% of the time it is not plugged in to anything.

I have three acoustics and I reckon I played an acoustic guitar once last year.
I love them but they make too much noise for me not to wake up the rest of the house when I start to play at 11pm!

In saying that, I have my first jam with my band for the year tonight and it will be an acoustic jam. Actually looking forward to it somewhat cos it’s something different.
