Airbourne Lemmy Tribute:

The only modern band? Damn, I find that a little sad.

Great vid by the way.

I don't "dig" the modern, detuned stuff much. While I do dig some of Volbeat's and FFDP's stuff, nothing grabs me like this level of energy and "classic" tone.

I mean, I love the music I grew up with, but there is sooo much fantastic new music being made today I just think it's cool when bands have a nod to the past and make sounds I know so well but I really want to hear things that I have not heard before, that's what excites me most.

I can certainly appreciate that. I know I'm an oddball.

If the song doesn't grab me in a few notes, I will never listen to it again...there are songs that are 35 years old that I have never heard in their entirety...and in every case where I did listen to the remainder of a given song, I felt angry that I wasted those 2-1/2 minutes....

I get it. A punch in the gut from a song is an intoxicating feeling. I have to admit though, that some of my current favorite albums only became so after many, many listens.
