After my wife gave me the thumbs up on spending some money on a Les Paul, I looked at some used gear to see what might be available. Lo and behold, up pops a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Goldtop, 1960 specs on finn.no (the Norwegian equivalent to Craigslist). The seller is very serious, and I know him from a Norwegian guitar forum, where he is a very respected member. The price is VERY decent by Norwegian standards, $1245, actually the cheapest I have ever seen a LP like this here. I just sent him a message that I'm interested. Fingers crossed. I will probably try to sell my Faded SG Special to finance some of the cost. I like the Faded, but I never really play it anymore, so I will not miss it.

Fingers crossed, I'm already excited!

The guy answered my message and will call me a little later today. I think it’s in the can, but I need to have a chat with him anyway.

The guitar has a repaired neck, but I trust him when he says it plays great. He’s a gutarist and collector and flips guitars all the time, and he has a spotless reputation, so I’m not worried about the work. The broken neck is obviously the reason why the price is what it is (about $250-500 cheaper than anything I’ve seen used here before).

It comes with a seymur Duncan Seth Lover in the bridge and a 57 Classic in the neck. A bit of wear from having been played a lot, but that doesn’t bother me.

Sell homemade alcohol. I've done it. Quite profitable....
And very illegal...:D That is probably one of the last things I could sell and get away with here. I’m fairly well known in the brewing community, and as a brewer in my local community, so selling booze on the sly would backfire faster than you could light up a stinker.

Really??? Pretty strict regulations? ??

I learned the art from my great grandfather in Kentucky in the summer of 1980. After I retired in 2011, I made a few batches....about 15 gallons total yield at around 170-180 proof. Sold the whole lot at $25.00/quart... :-)
