Not able to post pictures, site tells me file size is to large. I am not computer savy. I am on a Jpeg Format. File size 862 KB image size 1920X2560. I have tried everything I know, but cant get it to work. I have no probs using on other sites, any info would be helpful.

Hello....you can easily open in 'Paint' and choose the "resize" icon. 800x600 works well....

If the file is only 863 kb, it should upload. Anything under 1 MB should upload.

Maybe your pic really isn't under 1 MB?

You've tried dragging your PC pic into the "Reply" box?

There is an error the uploaded file is to large for the server to process.
I use the program "Paint" to resize. It is included with windows. Right click the file, Go to "open with". Open with "Paint". Click "Resize" in the upper right corner. Click "Pixels". I usually lower the larger of the 2 numbers to 1250. That should do it for most posts. You may need a smaller size/# for your avatar

As far as I know, "Under 1 MB" is the rule of thumb. Don't matter how many pixels the pic is. Even though 1920 x 2560 is a really large format.

BTW, I could never find explicit literature on this forum's site about image restrictions. Maybe it's time, unless it's hidden somewhere.

I will ask Wav. I am not sure what the file size is after this resize, but it always accepts it and it is an acceptable picture size for me. This does not apply to things I get from the internet, which are always accepted and always too big!

Thanks guys I will try this RVA I am in windows so I will try to figure this out. its probably easier than I think.

Thanks guys for your help was able to put this photo for my avatar its an older picture from a different source, Still cant upload my newest pictures but will keep working at it.

Just a word of advice for doing this...make sure you have "Maintain Aspect Ratio" selected. It may already be selected by default. If it is not selected, only one dimension will be resized.

When I resize, I use paint.net. Instead of entering an actual dimension, I enter the new size as a percentage of the original. For me, I generally select 20%. I think MS Paint offers the option to resize by percentage, too.

I have been able now to upload some pictures. Please don't ask me how kept playing around with different things and pow it happened. Thanks again for everyone's help.
