I can’t find any pics from when I was a small kid at the moment, so a few shots from my student days will have to do.

With a buddy at «Prekestolen» («the Pulpit»), a famous cliff in Norway, in the summer of 1995. Dangling our feet on the edge here, more than 900 m straight down below us.

Same summer, same shirt. Having a beer and a smoke at a friend’s cottage in the woods.

I especially like the motorcycle jacket and the expression, pondering the goodness of barley, hops and yeast...

My family has a long military history.

My Great Grandfather was taken in WWI. Oddly not by a bullet, but by Influenza while heading to the battlefield.

My grandfather (maternal) was on the beach at Normandy. He survived and lived into his 70's

Here is my stepfather on the left...USAF.

...and it's said I'm related to this gentleman from the Civil War...though I have no proof.

Cool article here... Gettysburg Battlefield Online

I think I'm having munchies flashbacks just looking at that.
Craving Doritos.

Weird thing -weed would do something to the chemical make up of the saliva in my mouth and I could not eat bread.
It would just stay real doughy even with sips of Yoohoo.
sugary cake like things I could do ok though.
I dont do any of that anymore, but I hear its about to be legal in NJ soon after the new Governor is sworn in Jan 20.

Guess I will smoke up and not worry about the rising of property and every other taxes, and swarms of illegal aliens coming to Sanctuary, some of whom may not be of such honorable character.
Not political speculation, thats what the platform is.

Oh well, at least I still got my guitar,
Look out now.....

Back then there was always plenty of beer and weed in the pits, not allowed but on hand. The mentioned "motorcycle jacket" was actually full leathers but unlike today with all kinds of high-tech protection we only had double thickness at elbows etc.

1976 Yamaha YZ125 Oran Park 1.jpg

The tracks back then were nothing like today with runoff areas and airbag padding, we raced between trees and along steel and concrete fences. The previous leathers were ripped to shreds in a crash, these yellow / black replaced the orange.

Triumph Bonneville or BSA????

Triumph Bonneville or BSA????

I've owned plenty of Triumphs and BSAs, raced a lot of different classes big and small but that bike (and it was the most enjoyable to race) was a Yamaha 125cc. Back then the class was called ultra lightweight. On tighter tracks I lapped the 125 quicker than on my unlimited production Ducati. 125s run VERY high corner speed and it takes a long straight for a big bike to catch up.

On longer fast tracks the 750 was fun.

WOW, just noticed the date on that newspaper, one week short of 43 years ago, man I must be old :-(

for a time I had the Kawis BIG BROTHER.....the 1000 CC ----awesome in a straight line.........too heavy in the corners---engine stuck out a foot on either side.

The Z series Kawasakis (4 cylinder 4 stroke) were great bikes.
The one following me in the photo is a H2 750, a 3 cylinder two stroke, very fast with a good power to weight ratio for the time.
BUT the thread is called Now and Then and that was way back then :-(
