Usually G&B, who make great pickups. My experience has been that they sound good and they do not squeal, although I am sure it varies by set.

They sound great --- split or in humbucking mode ---(not always the case with some pups) one day Ray --- I might even adjust them ........but----they sound good just the way they are.

I got this set of Von Herndon Supre Sonics I had made laying around. Very hot pickups at 17.5k - they were intended to be a cross between a Super Distortion and a Doug Aldrich. I put a trio of them in my Destroyer and I have two black ones left.

They work great in the metal genre, but my tone tastes are ever changing it would seem!

My Thro-Bak's are only around 8k, but I really like the tone in the Double Neck.

I'm shipping these black Supre Sonics and a Tone Man H-H Strat harness to a TTR buddy for some tone testing.... :)

Want to swap out the Alnico II PAF clones in my Gibson SG for a PAF style humbucker in the 8.6/7.6 bridge/neck range with nickel covers, 2 conductor and Alnico V magnets...

wow, your tastes are changing - 80's metal to PAF tones!? What is this world coming to?!

I know!!!!!

The Doubleneck really opened up an entire new world for me tonally speaking. I'm concentrating on a very bass-heavy tone that still retains clarity when overdriven....and the pickup placement of the Doubleneck really delivers in that area...and the crazy thing is, I am still playing the 80's stuff, but with more of a bigger/fuller PAF rock tone...

Both of my S2 Miras have SE Asia electronics in them
and I see no reason to "upgrade". The guitars sound
just fine the way they are thank you.

I think the SEs and S2s have different pups wound to different specs. That said, your point remains intact.

So darn neat! Are those special, super duper caps with that add the tone of the gods?

I am told they are forged by Russian tone elves in the Black Forrest.... :-)

I have to say, RVA, that my affinity for these K40Y tone beans is rooted in the way they allow me to roll my tone controls all the way off and still have complete clarity.

I've experimented with Orange Drops, Chiclets, Bumblebees, Ceramic Discs, and Tropical Fish, and none - even in the same rating - had this much clarity when rolled off to zero...

So anyway...spent the entire day at Disney yesterday...what a cluster fuque! Lines were the longest I've ever seen them averaging around 90 minutes.
Even the kids rides like Dumbo were ridiculous because adults were just trying to get some ride time in. I expected shorter lines in winter, but summer is better!
