I'd really like to try a Classic 57 / 57+ set but even used they are pricey.
They are the pick ups I put in my 335 copy. A little money but worth it and the thrills you get are amazing.

since my wife has locked me in the basement, I have resorted to the use of amp settings. Actually, the "amber" (mild) OD setting on the Marshall JVM with the gain down changes the EQ to a quite pleasing and mellow tone.I wonder how a series of changes in various factors would have effects on the 57's for Ray.
First, pickup height/ string height adjustment. 2nd, the Amps used, Speakers too. Also, room dynamics. I wonder how the 57's would sound in let's say a room 3,4,5 7 10 times the size that he is used to playing in.
I sure hear a difference......
Adrian, this demo is exactly what I hear when playing my 135 or a 175 vs the Lesters or SG's
Jeez Chili. You can play like Mitch?
I had no idea you were that good.
I will try thatI find the brightness in a 57 to be an asset.
I leave the neck tone wide open and the bridge tone at about 7,
the neck volume at about 4-6 and the bridge volume around 7,
then I set amps and pedals to go well with those settings.
This gives me someplace to go with both pickups.

IT did to me as well for the "genre" he was playing .......To my ears and taste the ES 275 absolutely buried the LP in that demo.
