Both really nice options. I had seen the Peavey before and almost pullednthe trigger. However, I am fixed on a natural finish, so it limited my choices. Anyway, the 8 week wait will give me some suspense!!I bought 2 Chibsons a Lester and a firebird...........the Lester is awesome amazing and beyond expectation---the Firebird was ......a disappointment--- not so much in its build quality (though it was not on par with the Lester) but the neck thickness was not clearly posted--- it was a gamble and I lost on that one.
Perhaps a Nice, Say Washburn Delta Blues
Peavey JF-1
(R4325) Peavey JF1 Red | Gear Exchange
OR a Jay Turser
Semi hollow body, Jay Turser | GL Music Store
I have owned the Washburn and the Turser and would have either back in a HEARTBEAT the PEavey is on my short list.....
Thank you. Your method of swapping electronics on a closed back inspired me. I may lean on you for advise in the future.First of all, congratulations!!!
Second, if that guitar is anything like my Washburn was when I got it (though my Washburn is from Korea), you'll probably find the build quality to be surprisingly good for the money. But, you may find the electronics to be on the sub-par side. But, it really isn't that hard to replace them.
Again, congrats on the new addition!
Somehow Smitty, I think Ray will be replacing the electronics before his 8 week wait is up.
8 weeks..........I give the stock electronics about 8 minutes after the box is open...........
I will let the company decide. The one in photo seems to lack a brand, so that is what I assume it will be like.Well there ya go--------the Million Dollar Question---------------whats it gonna say on the headstock?????
What a great idea!! I do have a pile of mini pots on hand (not Bourns). I will see if I can find 4 wourthy ones.Ha!
Y'all are probably right. BTW, Ray, Bourns makes some very good mini-pots that fit easily through the F-holes. They're better than most low-budget mini pots you find in these guitars. I put a set in my Washburn and am pretty pleased with them.
