Just for shites and giggles--- I am going to endeavor to post a weekly infomercial on a different bass in my humble collective of miscreants.
As this grouping can ebb and flow a bit ---- it should be interesting to see how long I can keep it going---

Todays Feature begins---where Hartley Peavey began. The Peavey T-40 or as I call mine
THE BIG BAMBOO

its huge---its heavy-- its built like a Sherman Tank and (except for the extra Mojo filled homemade pup rings by a previous owner) its all original
FYI I have the trc I just need to reinstall it ....

Here is an interesting video on the "Mimic" ability of the T-40, you see Hartley didnt make A bass --- he made one that could sound like MANY basses......so the "working musician" could buy 1 well made product and sound like he had a closet full of them. Rather innovative---its a line 6 Variax bass ----WAY before the modeling technology of today ---

Al the "data" you could want specs and info....

If you get a chance--- and see one of these relics in a shop ---- take the time to give it a Whirl --- you might be VERY SURPRISED at the results.

Very cool!

A T-40 was the first bass I ever saw in person. A local friend played one. It was the black model with the maple fretboard.

They have lots of tonez!

BTW, as I've said before, and repeated when we got together in Orlando, never get rid of those home-fab, wooden pickups rings (unless you replace them with your own, home-fab, wooden pickup rings).

They just scream Mojo-tude!

My T-45 has the Plastic nut--- but it is a different animal for a different Spotlight :)

The T- 20- T-15, T-40 and T-60 all have Das MEtal NUTZ --- I have an extra Metal nut on the extra T-40 Neck I have ---perhaps during the next string change (roughly Feb of 2022) I might slip it in there

Cool. Until a year or 2 ago, I didnt know there were different tones from different bass' or bass and string combos.
almost bought a Rondo bass (and / or a Rogue banjo), but I really have my hands full already with guitar.

I WILL get back on the blues harp soon though.
