Interesting guitars & great playing...

What about when a great player has an interesting guitar and the manufacturer decides it $$$ time?
Come on, are they for real?

How about a couple more pickups and some paint LOL!
No still too much by 2 or 3 times!

If they added more pickups and paint it wouldn’t be like Malcom’s most recent iteration of his Gretsch.

He removed the other pickups relatively early in AC/DC history, though you can still find YouTube videos when the guitar still had three (mismatched) pickups. For a time he had a white cover over the empty pickup cavities after he removed them. He eventually removed that cover.

Later he stripped the red paint off.

That is actually a pretty good replica of his guitar in its final form.

i THINK HIS ACTUAL GUITAR WAS BURIED WITH HIM ---- at least pics I saw of the funeral there was a guitar case being carried in or out or something....

Guy was a major FORCE in Rock n ROll and didnt take credit or dick about in the limelight like so many do--- speaks VOLUMES to his character and work ethic,.

Sad GRETSCH is capitalizing on it ALL READY --- hope the family get at least half that 15 k!
 
The photos I saw had little brother Angus carrying a a case presumably containing his Gretsch.
I don't think it would be down a 6' hole, they know if they did that I and a couple of thousand others would be standing back watching with shovels in hand :-(
