Ambassador of the Guitarded
Having trouble finding a tuner for my wife's 1980 Rickenbacker 620/12.
I suspect the photos should ID it.
I'd happily buy one tuner or if necessary a set of 6 or even 12.
Better still, now that I've pulled it apart a worm shaft with knob would be even better.
Anybody have one or can point me to a supplier?
Possible another brand could be broken up and shaft interchanged?
I'm thinking laterally here!

Robert, thanks for that link.
The boy from the Florida swamp (some say he traded his grandmother for a $100 Epi LesPaul) has secured the tuner and some other stuff I'm after.
The Tone Rooms mafia working together :-)

Seriously, gasket. You shouldn't expect your wife to use her Rick to hit you on the head.

See what happened? She busted her tuner on your noggin!

You really should supply her with something more appropriate to the task, such as a golf club!

Twas a sad story how the tuner broke.
Firstly the guitar hanging on wall decided it was time for the tailpiece to break (old age, just let go in the middle of the night).
Couple of days later I put a thick beach towel onto our glass top dining room table and lay the Rickey carefully on the towel. Before I start a clean up service I go to make a coffee. My granddaughter runs into the room closely followed by my BIG bonehead dog who decides to grab the towel and make it a chasing game for the granddaughter. One 1980 620/12 crashed to the tile floor, one broken tuner shaft and a small chip to the headstock #$@%

it takes a village.... :D

When you get old you have to watch out for your tailpiece failing unexpectedly, especially middle of the night.
Then its time to start wearing them adult diapers.
If you can remember where you put them.

This is like being in a nursing home.
I have Robert, Adrian & Don looking after my material requirements.
Now jtcnj helping with my morning hygiene :-(

Ive always wanted one of those guitars and it makes me just cringe when i think of it falling on to the floor.Ouch.

It will be OK with new parts installed and re-strung. Only one small mark on the back of headstock.
I take responsibility for placing it in a room with family and dog traffic, won't be doing that again.

Despite Adrian searching The Americas, Don chasing a lead in the UK and me doing my best down south ... still no luck finding a tailpiece bracket.
I have one on order from a big US supplier and will leave the order live hoping to get a new original bracket one day.
To get this old girl playing again today I purchased some 3mm alloy plate and made a rough replacement. I suspect my alloy bracket will be stronger than the cast units supplied by Rickenbacker :-)
I'm holding off on stringing her up until the new (second hand) tuner arrives from the Florida swamp.

Half done.

Finished (well a little more polishing and it will be).
