Band Frustration:

They seem to have a lot of broken stuff!

Yep...it was the bandleader's brother's band. he died last year. Everything is in a shambles.

Side note -

We were doing 4 part harmony on "Ride Like The Wind." and they keyboardist brought a vocal simulator...I like the harmony better....

I did a repair for my brother on a crackly humming pcb mount "crab" type jack (learned a new term - yay).
I was going to replace it but just reflowed the solder joints and it is fine.
It feels kind of loose because the springy metal is fatigued.
Sometimes good enough is good enough.

Wonder if they make a metal crab jack???

I fixed the effects loop on my Peavey amp a few years back by just reflowing the solder joint on one of those PCB-mounted jacks. I may have added a touch more solder, but that's all it took.

I was at a winery in Temecula on Saturday. I saw a guy, with a small PA, singing songs. he was good. Simple arrangement. Good setlist. Turns out, they pay the same fee for music, whether you are one guy or a 4 piece....

I think I am ready to stop dealing with stubbornness and just work alone...I don't like me that much, but I like myself more than stubborn bandleaders...

From all you've said, that's probably for the best. At this stage in our lives, it's got to be fun and easy first and foremost.

Man, you nailed it.

I bought them (6) new cables, which fixed a lot of equipment "problems," plus got them a decent loaner bass amp. I feel like I have done more than my share.

And, after I showed him the horrible buzzing (loud) from the bass stopped when we unplugged the guitar amp's line out from the TNT-130's input, he acknowledged this and then immediately hooked it back up again...ever after I told him I would prefer that he didn't wire up my amp in that fashion.

You just cannot help some people.

Not worth it.

Now for the Robert Herndon 1-man band!

Dude!!!

I'm going to work up a coffee house one man/one guitar setlist. Most venues pay a flat fee for music - one piece or five. The Lorimar Winery in Temecula is a great venue...

It's about time.
I would have been gone before this thread even got started.
Now take your guitar rig and go have some FUN!!!

Exactly!!!!

I do have compassion for this guy...and I will truly miss the phenomenal keyboardist, but some ventures just drain the life out of you....
