I don't think there is a difference. My destroyer and the original are both 24.75" scale...

It is probably just the angle the cam is oriented in relation to the 2 necks

Yes, I can see the difference (1st fret to nut). The top pic the whole neck/headstock appears to be lying at an incline, which makes the distance from fret to nut appear smaller than in the 2nd pic where the neck/hradstock is lying flat. Optical illusion. Cheers

Note the first fret inlay on the Von Herndon is a square block, Whereas the inlay on the destroyer is more rectangular in appearance.
