Nice pickup wiring color code diagram

This is something to keep in mind when wiring PRS pickups- the color codes are different for bass and treble. Ridiculous, right?

No sense at all at first sight. My PRS uses the top diagram, and I have reversed the phase on the bridge pickup for a better sound in the middle switch position. So the wiring on my two pickups is now identical - black is hot and white is ground.

Wht do you like better about the reverse phase wiring? Is it Peter Green sounding or something else?

Thank you guys so much for the help and for sharing. I originally bought a Dimarzio SD for a cheap Dean. The bridge collapsed and I moved the SD into a new strat. I bought a black loaded pickguatd on sale from Dragonfire. The Screamer sounded ok, I just wanted to use the SD. Dean sent me a new, much improved bridge. The Dean sat for years with the new bridge. I've always loved the neck on that piece of crap (Vendetta XM), so I'd like to put the Screamer into the it. So again, thanks for the help!!

I love this forum.

I just realized when I wired an SD bridge humbucker in the HSS Pacifica this past Friday, I did so with black and shield grounded and green to the switch.
I have the wiring diagram and I didn't look at it.

Doesnt sound thin and nasally nn positions 2-4.
I'll have to try reversing it, or does it matter in that application?

There is a simple wiring mod for strats (a jumper) to add tone control to the HB. I could only figure out how to do it with a straight forward wiring: no coil splitting. I absolutely love it.

Kind of a necro post but I was Googling around for Dragonfire pickup wiring color codes and it led me back here.
And seeing that the info in this thread was handy for reference, I'll add to the collection with this handy chart ...

Some of these were covered in Chubbles first post, but there are a few "less common" brands here.
Happy wiring.

I've seen some other charts during my travels. That has the most. These help so much. It's good to have as many brands as we do. Thanks!!
:H5:

Wow, 11/17, that is necro-posting. Just kidding.

DuncanDesigned should have the same wire colors as Seymour Duncan. I think.
So, green to ground and black goes to the switch.
(Red & white get soldered together and taped off, unless you want coil splitting.)

Thanks man

ive never done it before ,so it would be experience.

I dont know which one is ground lol for me looks like spider webb. Can i put green where the other green is and black where the black is will it work like that? Red and white are taped off already.

Green ground wire goes to the back of the volume pot where the braid of the old bridge pickup is grounded.
And the black hot lead goes to the last lug on the switch, where the white wire of the old pickup is attached now.
