Are Mesa Boogie Tubes Worth the Money?

My opinion, I would pay for that level of screening.

I wonder what they do with the "fails". Since they do not make the tubes, do they manufacturers give them a credit, or are they sold and re-branded?

Do any of you fellas put Mesa Tubes in other brands of amps?
 
In a word...yes. I’ve tried other tubes in my Mesa’s over the last 20 years and I always end up back with the Mesa-branded tubes. They sound best and seem to last longer, plus Mesa amps are fixed bias and you know you’re getting a perfect match with the Mesa tubes.

I’ve used them in Marshall and Rivera amps too and gotten excellent results.

When I did repair work in Jacksonville I had several people who would ask for the Mesa tubes.
I was told that the ones that did not pass Mesa standards , but were still good they would sell to other companies to brand.

Seems Mesa has a lot of clout with the tube manufacturers, so they send a lot back that you can be sure get sent to other customers and they also liquidate some portion themselves, and though I can’t prove it I suspect a bunch of those end up with various online tube resellers.

Concur. I only run Mesa tubes in my Road King. Never even considered anything else. Price but if you buy direct from their hollywood store, their customer service is EXCELLENT.
 
Digging in my old parts chest this past weekend I found some RCA 7025 new I had bought from Gary Smalley back in Jacksonville. Foe those not familiar with the name, he was a guitar teck for Lynyrd Skynyrd for a period of time till his health gave out.
