Future of Bass amplification?

you have to do your own research on that one.....

Could I interest you in a very nice Peavey Foundation S vintage USA made bass???? complete with hard case---- 5 bills and I throw in delivery---- OR send me a seafoamie Gretsch in trade ;)

Is that an early '90s Peavey Mark VIII XP stack I see? Is that a Black Widow?
Well...yes. I believe it is...sort of.
Pretty sure the Mark VIII head is from around 1997...it's not mine, but I was there when he got it.
The two cabs beneath do belong to me though. They were a gift for repair services from a friend. The owner of the head uses my cabs freely. They do sound quite excellent indeed. Once in a while I plug one of my heads in, in place of the Mark VIII.(I don't want to be the one that kills it...ever...even accidentally)

Peavey...................................................................yum......stuff is built like tanks...............................

Peavey stopped using the teal stripes in 1995 on many of their amps ... 1997 would be the absolute latest I would think, but more likely 1994-1995. Some of those amps sat around in shops for a couple of years, so your friend might have bought it in 1997. I think mine was bought around that time, according to the guy who sold it to me. The XP series with the carpet covering are the very last Mark series amps that Peavey made.

Indeed, it probably was NOS when he picked it up. The cabs model numbers do end in "BW".
I just popped down and checked.
I do love those cabs. They give out that gut punch when I'm cranking through them.

try and kill it -----try---ya cant ---- well maybe with dynamite------MAYBE!
It's not mine.
It's not mine.
It's not mine.
I will not be responsible, or even questionable, if it ever happens.
That thing has been through hell and back, and it's still a monster. I found one on CL but it's quite a drive, and I don't really need it since I have another (albeit crappy) bass head...AND the Kustom.

Oh, and the Kustom is fricken unreal as a bass head. Another gut-puncher indeed. Since I mentioned plugging it in, earlier in this thread, I have only used it to play bass...fallen in lust with it again.

Our bassist's Mark VIII XP kept throwing the circuit breaker in the jam spot last time we used it, so it is currently being looked at. We should have it back by our next gig on Thursday, we hope. Otherwise my Mark VIII XP still works and we will use that.

One of the things Simon asked Frank to do was install an IEC socket for a removable power cable. I suspect the issue might be the power cable. If not there could be a bad joint in there somewhere, or maybe a dead capacitor. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Can Anyone Say Acoustic Bass Amps?

Thanks for that! I look forward to the resolution. These amps kick ass, and I'd like a chance at keeping it going for a long time. I am thinking of pulling the long drive to pick up the CL deal.

So far in my life, I owned about 3 bass amps I think. 1st was my Peavey 1x15 combo from the 70's. Next, came an Ampeg SVT solid state head, then my Ashdown Mag 300 which I still own.

I have always wanted a Sunn head, Ampeg SVT, Mesa Boogie 400+, and Acoustics.
