Cell Phones...

I live in a rural area. Low rolling hills. Heavily wooded and far from the masses. Two bars indoors and a 3G is considered good. 4G is only outside on the top of the northern hill. This site often disappears when attempting to post things. Perhaps the phone is trying to tell me something?:hmmm:

Well even out here where im at theres still spots out in real rural areas theres no cell service at all. But ya i can see where its would be hard to upload things or even use your cell phone with that signal.

When I moved to Appalachia I had to get a hillbilly phone service. Now that I am back in the city most of the time, I have to have a city service; which doesn't work at all when I visit my home in Appalachia.

I was at the mall yesterday sitting down drinking some coffee and doing some people watching. It's amazing how many people have their smart phones glued to there hands and wearing the usual ear bud headphones. They are mostly teenagers and young adults but I even saw some senior citizens texting on their phones also. To me I think that is going overboard always checking your phone 24/7. Then I was walking in the mall and I walked directly towards a cell phone zombie. I almost bumped into him before he looked up and saw me. I said "beep beep"! If you are going to be on the phone then sit down somewhere so you can concentrate instead of wondering around running into other people. These smart phone zombies should have a sign taped to their foreheads warning others..."Beware Of Oncoming Cell Phone Zombie".

The cell phone zombie problem will eventually solve itself.
They will all become road pizzas sooner or later.
...they are the reason that I don't ride a motorcycle anymore. They're more likely to make a mess out of me.
Yes, I was actually hit by one(a cell phone zombie). She just kept on going. I saw her, with her cell on her right shoulder, and a mascara brush in her hand, as I placed my right elbow on the hood of her Jeep Grand Cherokee, just over the passenger side headlight. She ran straight through a stop sign, and nearly put me in to a telephone pole. She was completely oblivious.

I don't know what it is like in the U.S. but up here in Canada it's against the law to text or talk on your cell phone if you are driving a vehicle. You get a pretty hefty fine or ticket and I think you lose some demerit points. I've personally saw many drivers on their phones and they blatantly ignore the law. They think it's their right to talk or text on their phones whenever they please. I can understand using the phone for business or an important call but many people just use their cell phones just for the sake of it. They can't live or function without having a smart phone glued to their hand. I was just at the mall earlier today and the same thing...a mass herd of cell phone zombies shuffling through the mall texting without looking. I almost ran into another cell phone zombie again...Lord have mercy! Well that's my rant for today.

It is illegal in most of the areas around me, but that doesn't stop people from blatantly endangering the lives of everyone around them. My nieces (sisters kids, all well into adulthood with kids of their own) do the same as my sister. They probably taught her how.

I saw the strangest thing the other day. I saw a group of six people all holding smart phones in their hands constantly circling the park downtown while I was waiting at the bus stop across the street. They must have circled around several times. What were they trying to accomplish? Maybe they downloaded an app that tells you how many times you circled around a public park. Then I saw a family of 4 walking through the park all with big assed smart phones all of them glued to it. The phone zombies are growing fast in numbers...beware!

Well i know theres a Pokemon game app for smartphones but maybe that fad has faded.i know a few folks who have like a how many steps you walk in a day app on there phone but who knows

Since this is a music forum, particularly members who play guitar or bass there is a very good app for your Android smart phone. It's called "Da Tuner" which you can download from the Play Store. It's a great guitar tuner with digital and meter read out. You can set it to any pitch like 432 Hz (concert pitch), 440 Hz (standard pitch) or any other pitch. I've used it for a few years now and you can tune your electric guitar without it being plugged in. I highly recommend this app for your phone.

Thank you! A sweet thing to pass a long.

Now I've seen it all...a dual screen smart phone so you can text twice as fast! Technology is getting more fancier as each day passes.

I believe it, people use iPads that I run my life on. Smaller than a lap top but the size of a text book. My new phone is pretty big. It has a belt clip and I have to wear underwear because it can pull me pants down.
